Physical Education Curriculum and Lesson Plans

Tandalay Tender

Tandalay Tender is a great tool for behavior modification and positive reinforcement for physical education as well as in the classroom. Improve behavior by “paying kids to be good!” Sounds wrong, aye? Just think about it. How does life work? What happens when we get into the real world? Isn’t the goal to do a good job in school so that we can get a good-paying job? The idea is that the better you are at your job, the more money you will make, yes? Why not begin teaching the value of doing a job well now? How about learning some life lessons about taking care of your money, budgeting, saving, prioritizing, and making life decisions? Use Tandalay Tender to promote positive behavior, to teach life skills, and learn responsibility. Samples of Tandalay Tender are below.  Under each sample is a download link to a PDF for printing the money. Suggestion: start each day with a couple dollars. Provide a “store” with donated items for kids to shop in once per month. You might need to “fine” students for certain infractions, or charge them for special privileges (like a trip to the drinking fountain, etc.). Award effort, participation, attitude, kindness, caring, good decisions, etc. Make sure to catch kids being good as often as possible. Make it a point to keep your awards as balanced as possible between students, while not compromising your high standards.
