Round Robin Tournaments are the only kind of tournament supported by Tandalay Curriculum. Every team has the opportunity to play every game. Maximum participation and enjoyment are our priorities!
- In a round-robin tournament, each team plays every other team in the class. The winner is the team that wins the most games. Following is the procedure for organizing a round robin tournament:
- Have the students in teams of 4 to 6. Flip a coin to see who gets the ball first. Use the rules from the game above.
- Determine the number of games to be played by applying the formula n (n-1) + 2(n equals the number of teams). For example, six teams would require 6(6-1) + 2, or 15 games.
- Give each team a number and arrange the teams in two columns. For the first round:
1 plays 6 2 plays 5 3 plays 4
- Keep team number 1 constant and rotate all the other teams one place in a counterclockwise direction until fifteen games have been scheduled.

- With an odd number of teams, use bye in place of a number and follow the same procedure. This example is for five teams, with each “bye” indicating the team will not play.

- Bye teams can be assigned various tasks such as: equipment managers, referees, ball retrievers etc…
- If you have fewer teams, play fewer rounds; more teams, play extra rounds.
