I am currently teaching fitness classes at the local gym, and teaching at CSUF in the Kinesiology Dept. The Tandalay program was born after I started teaching the class “PE for Children.” Preaching about “teaching to the standards” and then seeing how difficult it is, and how rare it is to actually implement a quality program in schools, I was determined to provide a solution for teachers that takes on the “headache” of PE – setup, prep time, too much equipment for too little payoff, storage difficulties, games that intimidate the unfit or uncoordinated kids, games that favor the athletic kids, etc. I’m happy that we have successfully tackled all of those challenges and provide a comprehensive, fun, non-intimidating, success-for-all program!
I am the mom of two amazing kids who are growing up way too fast – jr. high and high school this year – so you might hear a lot of ruckus in the background – or even a water polo game going on. Life happens, and it happens FAST, so I’m appreciating EVERY MOMENT of it. I love my life,and I love physical education and fitness, and I am happy to talk to you about it!! I firmly believe that Physical Education, fitness and nutritional education play and integral role in creating disciplined, self-confident, determined, ambitious young minds. I could go on and on! I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Moved to California when I was about 14, was brought out of the foster care/group home system by my older sister who took myself and 2 siblings in. I went on to finish High School, joined the Army and spent 6 years active duty. I currently serve in the National Guard and have 12 years of service thus far. I am very involved in the Fitness Industry, have numerous certifications, and am a personal trainer and teach boot camps and other fitness classes. I am passionate about kids fitness and health, and am anxious to share that with you.
